The Center for Weight Loss Surgery, located at Saint Clare's Hospital/Dover, answers the community's growing demand for a surgical alternative for serious weight problems.

Designated as a Bariatric Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the Center for Weight Loss Surgery at Saint Clare’s offers comprehensive care from initial evaluation through surgery and after care. Our panel of nationally recognized laparoscopic bariatric surgeons brings extensive experience in minimally invasive surgery and specialized training and expertise in weight loss surgery, and each is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

The Center offers both gastric bypass and gastric banding procedures, via the laparoscopic approach, when clinically indicated. This minimally invasive technique allows our patients to recover and resume normal activities more quickly than with conventional surgery. Patients are cared for by registered nurses, respiratory therapists, surgical technicians, nursing assistants, dietitians and other staff with specialized training in working with weight loss surgery patients.
