Gout Anyone?
Hi guys, I'm 9 months post-op RNY, I've lost 121 pounds and things have been going pretty well except I started having pains in my big toes and think I might be coming down with Gout. Seem like eating all that protein is leading to issues now. Have you seen this before? Is it common? Is the issue for the surgeon or dietician?

re: Gout anyone
After talking to Dr. Bertha, a Program For Life bariatric surgeon, about your question, Dr. Bertha says that it is probably not gout. You need to see a neurologist as soon as possible. Without seeing you in person Dr. Bertha cannot be certain or liable for any diagnosis but B12 is most likely the # 1 suspect. Please keep us updated on how you are feeling!
